Travel Teams

Travel softball is known to have a higher level of competitiveness than Rec softball. Any players that are considering joining a Travel team should be made aware of the following:

  • 10U and 12U Travel players DO NOT have to register for Rec League but are still eligible to play both if they wish too.
  • Tryouts may be necessary to join a team depending on registered numbers. Players will be selected and placed on teams.
  • The program consists of 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U levels.  Age levels may be combined or changed depending on registration numbers.
  • 14U and 16U players will have the fees listed on the registration page.
  • Being part of the travel team comes with additional costs for travel expenses that will be need to be covered by the players families and there is an expectation of higher commitment from the player and parents.
  • Unlike the rec program, playing time is NOT guaranteed. Coaching staff will determine playing time according to players ability and practice attendance.
  • There will be 1-2 practices per week along with some weekend tournaments.
  • The travel season runs from May to the end of July with tournaments starting in early June.

Mandan Nitro Traveling Fastpitch

The Mandan Girls Traveling Fastpitch Softball program is designed to give a higher level of competition for the more avid player.  Players develop confidence, skills, and teamwork while competing with teams from local communities.

Teams practice twice a week with tournaments that may require travel to surrounding communities on the weekends.

Travel teams will be provided travel uniforms which will include pants, jerseys, socks, and belts that the players will return at the end of the summer.

All travel players are required to provide their own face masks and batting helmets this season that they will be the only ones to use.

Face masks are going to be required for all infielders and outfielders while they are in the field of play.

This year we will participate in 4 or 5 tournaments throughout the summer with tournaments in Bismarck, Fargo, Dickinson and Watertown or Pierre, SD along with the state tournament that is located in Bismarck this season.  Additional tournaments may be added as the season progresses.

If we have enough registrations we will create multiple teams for the following divisions:

  • Nitro 10U
  • Nitro  12U
  • Nitro 14U
  • Nitro 16U
